How to make an all-purpose shoe and bag wax – this wax is for leather and plastic shoe, bag, and belt. You can also use this to wood furniture, plastic accessories, bags, and shoes.

What does it do?

It gives shine and protect your items. It will become easier to clean. You can use this colorless wax to polish, protect, and make your leather bags, shoes, belt, wallet, and more things. What I like about it is that it does not add color to the item, just shine.

How to make an all-purpose shoe and bag wax

INGREDIENTS:

Equal parts of:

Cocoa butter / shea butter – I chose cocoa butter because it is the cheapest

Liquid Oil – ordinary cooking oil is sufficient, I use bimoli oil because it is what is available

Beeswax

What I did is that I used a tea cup to measure all of them. All of them have the same amount in a tea cup. You can adjust the quantity if you wish.

Procedure:

Melt all together in a double boiler. When it melted, transfer to moulds. I used a cupcake silicone mould that I bought from Daiso (P88). You can use any container as long as it will not melt from the heat. Let it cool before using. To know if it is cool already, it should form a semi solid wax. You can put it in the refrigerator to speed up the cooling process.

How to use:

  1. Note that you can also use this to shine and protect plastic chairs, and smmoth surfaced materials like wooden furniture.
  2. Clean the item (bag/shoes/furniture/etc).
  3. Apply thin amount of wax using your hand so that the heat from your hand will melt the wax. When the whole area is covered with thin layer of wax, polish it with a cloth or brush (shoes).
  4. Done

Warnings:

  1. Do not apply the wax when hot, it will ruin the leather.
