  1. Gardens by the Bay , Marina Sands

My experience in Singapore.

Marina Sands and Gardens by the Bay are clustered because they are very close to each other. Visit these places in the afternoon. Marina Sands at around 4:00 pm (take note that the temp in the afternoon is super hot)

It is best that you visit the Gardens by the bay in the afternoon from 5 pm to 9 pm. At 5 pm you will see how it looks under the Sun. It is really a magnificent place to see. At around 5:30 pm, purchase a ticket for the sky walk (if you can afford) and queue at around 6:30 pm. It is best to be there before sun down and during sun down. In our case, we went up at around 7 pm when there is still light until sundown. This way you can see both the view during daytime and night time. Take note that you have only 30 minutes stay up there.

At 8:30 PM the lights in the Gardens by the Bay will turn off which marks the start of the Gardens by the Bay night Show. Make sure that you are already lying on the ground at the time to see the dancing lights of these huge man-made trees. The view at the bottom of the structure is better than when you are up in the skywalk. Walk back to the MRT at night and see Marina Sands at night.

2. Merlion

Your  trip is not complete without a visit to Singapore’s Merlion because it is the symbol of Singapore. Visit Merlion at night because it is lit at night and it is prettier. You can visit this place after the Gardens by the Bay trip but take note that the MRT stops at 11pm.

3. Singapore Zoo

You can visit Singapore Zoo in the Morning since it opens at 8:30 am. You can use the tram ride at $5 or at a lesser price if you purchased your ticket at CebAir in Lucky Plaza. This is a must see place if you have no zoo in your area. We have no zoo in the place where I came from so this is a must visit place for me. You can see polar bears, giraffe, lion, white tiger, and a lot more. Do not miss the show of Pedro, the sea lion at 10 am and the Elephant show right after the sea lion show. The schedule of shows are available in the suggested itineraries in their website and in their handouts. Ask the crew at the gate for the map.

4. River Safari

Visit River Safari in the Afternoon during the blazing sun at around 3pm because it is shaded. My favorite place here is the Panda, do not forget to visit the adorable Panda and the Flood Water Aquarium to see the Big fishes especially the huge sea lion. There are plenty of fishes to see here. The River Cruise is not so interesting as I expected, it is best to keep it as the last thing in your list because you might fail to see the other attractions since the place closes at 6:30 pm. The Amazon Quest Ride is also fine and you can go around twice.

5. National Orchid Garden

If you love plants and flowers, this is a must place to visit. The elderly loves this place because it is a very beautiful garden with lots of beautiful orchids in bloom. Walk 1.2 Km from the MRT Station to reach this place, while walking enjoy the watching other people exercise, watch the big palm trees and trees. Take note that you must visit this place in the morning if you want to walk around the place to avoid the blazing heat of the sun. If you see reach the small park with big trees in the middle of the trail, you will see the people exercising. If you want to make your trip extra special, join the group who are doing Tai-Chi, a slow exercise which is really relaxing.

6. Chinatown and their structures

Visit this place and see a glimpse of China. See the Hindu Temple and Buddhist Temple. Look around for souvenirs and items.

7. Universal Studios

If you have kids or you are young at heart and loves rides go here. If not, just take a picture at the universal studios globe.

8. Sentosa

Visit wings of time and luge if you have money. If note, just walk around the area and see the beautiful places here and there. Visit the Sentosa Merlion and do not forget to ride the cable car. TIP: We bought all our tickets from Cebair in Lucky Plaza because it is discounted.

9. Jurong Bird Park and Night Safari

I was not able to visit this place because of our limited time, but I heard from others that this place is pretty.

10.  Lucky Plaza, Ion Orchard

Ion Orchard is a high end mall with Prada, Luis Vuitton, etc. Lucky Plaza is a cheap place to buy giveaways (take note that items in Lucky Plaza came from Divisoria, so it is better to buy in Chinatown for authentic souvenirs)

These are my Top 10 Must Visit Places in Singapore, if you notice I did not add Little India in the list because I do not like the smell in their stores. The smell of body odor, spices, and heat is not ideal for me. Take note that it is best to have 2 destinations each day to fully enjoy the experience. Do not cram four or more activities in one day because you will not enjoy it if you have to rush things.
