Planning a Singapore Trip

Hello Everyone, I am planning to make an absolute guide for you in an outline form but now, I decided to share my experience and notes that I should have done or things that I should have not done. My posts might become a little repetitive since I am busy with a review for a major exam but I will still post things for you. Hopefully this will help you in your trip to Singapore.

Planning a Singapore Trip

Step 1: Planning a Singapore Trip

My sister called me and told me that she wants to go to Singapore lat November (2015) but it was only last March (2016) that she confirmed that we will go there. I have the task of Planning a Singapore Trip. So here are the steps to help you in your trip to Singapore. You can also apply these guides for your trip in other countries or places.

Planning a  Singapore Trip Guide #1.  Do the Research

Research the Country that you wish to visit and read articles about others itinerary, budget, accommodation, culture, and things that you should know about the place that you want to visit. This is very important because you do not want to go to a place and wonder where you should go. Even if you are travelling locally, you should always research before going to that area because it will save you a lot of trouble. I know most of you will say, “of course we research a place before we go there, we research the temperature, climate and everything”. However, I see many foolish tourists who step into a place and complain a lot and spend their whole day planning for their trip – what a waste of time. Anyway, here are some things that you should research first:

a. What are the Tourist spots in that area and where to find them in a map?
b. What is the climate, temperature, and geography of that area? – This is important in preparing your clothes and things to bring.
c. Find out the best and cheap accommodations available in that area. How mush will it cost and the reviews.
d. Find out the transportation system in the area.
e. Read guides by travel bloggers and their reviews about the area. Make sure to read articles which are made by bloggers residing in your country to make sure that the tips and guides will match with your culture, country, etc.
e. Find out how expensive it is.

So, in my research here are the things that I researched for “Planning a Singapore Trip”

a. There are a lot of tourist spots in Singapore and you need a at least a week to fully enjoy what Singapore has to offer. That is why you have to be very selective in the places that you have to visit. Here is my compilation of the Top 10 Must Visit Places in Singapore.

b. Temperature in Singapore is hot, when we went there it is 28 degrees Celsius. The sun rise from 7 am and set at about 7:30 PM (surprising). So, bring thin clothes which are comfortable. Make sure that you bring one set for each day because you will sweat a lot unless you plan to use laundry services then you can bring less clothes. I suggest shorts, dresses (comfy and loose), thin shirts for guys.

c. For cheap accommodations find out my reviews for Singapore Accommodations here.

d. Transportation system, they have Taxis, buses, and LRT/MRT system. Find out my guide for Singapore Transportation System Here

e. Singapore is a very expensive country. It is almost 1 Singaporean Dollar is .74 dollar or 1 Singaporean Dollar is PHP35. Cost of living is high and food is expensive so prepare a higher budget in your trip there. If you are in a tight budget I prepared some tips for budget travelers.

Planning a Singapore Trip #2. Booking a Flight

In the Philippines, the cheapest airline is Cebu pacific. They offer promo rates everyday so it is best to check out there websites everyday. This might apply to all airlines, they offer cheaper rates when you will book at least 5 months ahead. make sure that the flight expenses is “all in”.

In the Philippines, Cebu Pacific included all expenses in their “all in” ticket except the travel tax that you have to pay elsewhere. They offer promos almost everyday so check out their Piso fares etc.

Planning my Singapore Trip #3. Prepare the things you need for the trip

I suggest preparing your clothes at least a day before your trip.

My time is up and I have to continue with my review so, Hope to see you next time.
