If you do not have a government ID yet, this is the first Philippine government ID that you can get. Most ID applications require an exiting government ID. The following IDs do not need it and it can help you start your journey in gaining IDs.
If you are still college student, it is the best time to get your first government ID.
In the past, it is easier to get A TIN ID but it is not the case now. The rise of the ORUS program requires applicants to present a government ID. So, where do you start?
PHILIPPINE PASSPORT
If you are a first time Passport applicant, the following are the requirements that you will need:
a. PSA Birth Certificate;
b. Student ID with Certificate of Registration from the School – if 18 years old and above
PHILIPPINE POSTAL ID
If you are a new graduate, you can start with this Philippine ID. The requirements are:
a. PSA Birth Certificate
b. Barangay Certificate of Residency
You can also present the following if you do not have PSA Birth Certificate:
- Valid Alumni ID,
- College or Post Transcript Records,
- Valid School ID
You may visit the nearest Post Office in your area to apply for a Philippine Postal ID.
So far, these are the IDs that you can get without any existing IDs. The fastest is the Philippine Postal ID, but the waiting time is around 30 days.
After getting these IDs, you can get a TIN number through ORUS. However, I don’t think they are issuing TIN IDs anymore. TIN is essential if you want to invest in the future and open your own bank account.
Do not apply for SSS, Pag-ibig, and Philhealth yet if you cannot pay the monthly fees. If you start with these one and failed to pay monthly, you may receive consequences in the future for non-payment.
